WILDSIDE × POGGYTHEMAN × DEKOTORA T-Shirt (Truck)

DEKOTORA – Spaceships on the Road in Japan – is a collection of photographs of so-called dekotora (literally: "decoration trucks") taken over the past 15 years by Junji Hata, a photographer active on the front lines of magazine and advertising photography.

The decorated trucks that glide through the darkness of the night appear like spaceships on the road. Whether a dream or an illusion, they take us to another world.
This T-shirt features a photograph of a dekotora taken by Hata.
The vivid colors make this an impactful piece.

The photograph depicts "Lady Mistress," a dekotra belonging to the Zenkoku Utamarokai.
Lady Mistress is representative of dekotora from the 1970s, which was when the subculture reached its peak. It uses real lightbulbs as opposed to LEDs, which are far more common today.
The body of the truck is painted with Japanese style art, a throwback to Showa Era Japan. It is still in operation to this day.
