We spoke with the brand about its philosophy of clothing and the thoughts behind its collaboration with WILDSIDE.



ーCould you tell us when BLUE BLUE was established and about the brand’s concept?

“BLUE BLUE” began with a denim shirt created in the early 1980s.
With a focus on denim and indigo blue, which become more beautiful with wear, we pursue simple, timeless, and ultimately essential daily wear.



ーMany BLUE BLUE pieces seem to be designed to be enjoyed over many years, including the changes that come with wear. What do you consider important when selecting fabrics and in the sewing process?

At BLUE BLUE, we place great importance on how a garment feels when you first put it on.
When selecting fabrics, we consider factors such as how they feel against the skin, softness, firmness, and weight, choosing the material that allows each piece to be worn with the greatest comfort.

At the same time, we believe it is important that our clothes can be enjoyed for many years.
We pay close attention to durability in the sewing process, as well as details such as stitch density and construction, so that even after being worn frequently and washed repeatedly, the changes that occur over time remain as a beautiful part of the garment’s character.

Comfortable to wear, and growing more cherished with every passing year.
That is the kind of clothing we strive to create.



ーWhat did you hope to achieve through this collaboration with WILDSIDE?

BLUE BLUE often works with BLUE and NAVY, so we were conscious of how to express BLACK, a defining color of WILDSIDE, while preserving the character of both brands.



Rather than simply changing the color to black, we aimed to create something new for both brands by bringing together the denim and workwear sensibilities of BLUE BLUE with the distinctive world of WILDSIDE.



ーWhat message would you like to share with WILDSIDE customers through this collaboration?

First, we hope you will appreciate the atmosphere, character, and texture of the fabrics themselves.

As the garments are worn over time, the color gradually fades and the texture of the fabric subtly changes, allowing each piece to develop into something uniquely your own.
