WILDSIDE’s Featured items: An In-Depth Review
While our outfits change daily, we rarely change our bags.
As a result, they are inevitably used heavily and age over time, yet it is rare to find a piece where this wear can truly be appreciated as "character."
I have finally found a bag that solves this dilemma.
It is a tote bag created through a collaboration between Ichizawa Shinzaburo Hanpu and WILDSIDE. This latest work is a partnership with Ichizawa Shinzaburo Hanpu, a Kyoto-based canvas bag maker with a history dating back to 1905.
While it is finished in the same shape as the original tote bag offered as a novelty at the Yohji Yamamoto Aoyama flagship store, the appearance of the high-quality natural canvas dyed in black possesses a unique and beautiful texture.
The deep, stiff expression when first used is excellent, but the lustrous sheen that emerges through use—fading slightly while gaining a glow—is truly refined and alluring. It is, so to speak, reminiscent of the "understated, seasoned performance" of a mature actor.
Furthermore, another key point is its "double-A-side" design, featuring the Yohji Yamamoto signature logo on one side and the Ichizawa Hanpu name tag on the other, both standing out beautifully.
I cannot wait to see how it will "grow" and evolve with me.
